Processes of short time memory during the process of haptic perception

During processes of haptic perception an infinite amount of independent information has to be processed selectively. Millions or even milliards of sensory inputs – we are hardly concious of – are integrated to a whole by astonishing precision. It is not known yet, how these processes are organized cortically, in detail. However, it seems to be certain that this system of perception is dependent on short time memory. That's why we are interested in how, when and where the respective processes of memory are activated - which temporal dimension they need. These issues are interesting from a clinical perspective, i.e. for the research of Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, we are investigating processes of haptic perception in early stages of dementing processes. We expect relevant markers for an effective early diagnosis. Further, we have an eye to the other modelaties and look for similarities and differences. Here, we use analyses of EEG signals as methodic device.
